Terminator technology

Terminator Seed campaign is a success.

We want to say a big 'thank you to you'. The campaign to combat Terminator Seed technology has been a success.

The United Nations has upheld a ban on Terminator. It's a positive step towards preventing the destruction of traditional food production methods in developing countries.

As part of our Seedsaver campaign many of you wrote to your MPs and sent a Valentine's card to the EU Commissioner for the Environment.

This helped to convince politicians that the production of sterile seeds is not part of the answer to the food crisis. In fact, sterile seeds are a threat to the rights of peasant farmers and small-scale food producers in poor countries.

This success marks the end of our current campaign.

But this isn't where we stop, there are still many challenges ahead. There is still much to do to support small-scale farmers. Our advocacy team will continue to monitor the actions of those biotech companies that are working on Terminator seeds.
