Take action and help us 'Waterproof' Rio+20!

CALLING ALL CAMPAIGNERS - CONTRIBUTE TO OUR PHOTO PETITION!

The world meets in June 2012 for Rio+20. It's a big chance for world leaders to recommit to sustainable development - one that has the poorest people at its heart.

And it's essential to poor people worldwide that water for farming and food is central to Rio+20.

Together we can help make sure Rio+20 is a big step towards ensuring the poor have water for their livelihoods. And it couldn't be easier!

We're putting together a huge water-themed photo petition to highlight to our representatives the importance of water for food and farming. But we'll need your help.

We're asking all of our supporters to get involved and contribute photos to the petition. When the time comes, we'll hand then in to Secretary of State Caroline Spelman, to let her know how important this is.

Just download our Rio-themed community action sheet (4.75MB PDF) - it has everything you need to get your whole community involved in our Rio+20 photo petition.

And here's a sign-up sheet if you'd like to collect names and emails.

You can also download these 'thanks for taking the action' flyers, to give to the people you get involved!

Some nuts and bolts

Once you've taken the action, you could either mail in your photos to campaigns@progressio.org.uk or send in photos on a CD or memory stick (we’ll send them back.)

If you want, it’s easy to use www.yousendit.com for lots of pictures. Just upload your photos and send the link to campaigns@progressio.org.uk

We'll get in touch when you've been added to our Rio gallery - check out the people who have already got involved!

When the time comes, we'll hand in everyone's pictures to Secretary of State Caroline Spelman, who leads the UK's work at the Rio+20 conference.

Do make sure we have your photos by mid-May (final date TBC).
