Marcala La Paz, Honduras.

Progressio was working with the parthner organization COMUCAP, It is a rural women’s organization based in La Paz, during six months (From October 2012 to June 2014) where the volunteers worked to promote women’s rights through campaigning within the town. Also they supported organic coffee farms as well as aloe vera and vegetable farming.

Description of the Action at home, cycle 1 (January – March 2014):

El Mezcalito is a community situated in the mountainous area of Marcala. Here volunteers carried out a project to create a playground for children, to donate uniforms and footballs for the school’s football team and to carry out a refurbishment of the infrastructure of the school.

“I think at the end of the cycle it was a good opportunity to support this school because the children need to be able to play in a very nice environment” Alex Dominguez.

Marcala La Paz, Honduras II

Description of the Action at home cycle 2 (April – June 2014):

In this community, volunteers created a playground in a rural school benefiting 118 students. The project included a football pitch and a large playground with several sets of swings to promote the physical health of children at the school.
