This week was one of the shortest since the beginning of the cycle but we progressed in our work owing to forming small groups and working really hard on the new vegetable patches. We could say that despite the small amount of time we have had, this has made us work even harder to achieve our goals. One of the family’s vegetable patches was created with a screen of coconut palm leaves to form a barrier against animals. Evidently, it was a great idea at the time to utilise these natural resources to innovate our initial design, however we did not obtain the desired results because on our return we found that the animals had destroyed what we had built!

We achieved many positive results during the week, culminating in a real feeling of achievement.

Between the weekly activities, it was timetabled to start the sowing process in the recently completed vegetable patches. We managed to learn some important techniques for planting and, in addition to this, we learned how to successfully re-pot some plants that had reached their optimal size. It was a fantastic experience and a great learning opportunity for every member of our group.

In the middle of the week we received a visit from Ninoska and Carmen (Progressio staff), so they could be informed as to our project's progress, and it gave us great pleasure to show them that we're incredibly satisfied with our progress this week.

Sembrado y trasplantado
