Would you and your community like to do something that will really help poor communities around the world?

If so, you can find out how by coming to our supporter day on Saturday 17 September!

During the afternoon you can find out more about Progressio’s work. Nearly 50,000 directly benefited from our work last year and we would love to hear what you think about where we should be going and what we should be doing next.

We’ll have a workshop on ‘fragile states’ – looking at the example of Somaliland, where Progressio has worked for many years. We’ll have a workshop on our new campaign – about ensuring poor people and communities have access to the water they need to sustain a livelihood. You can have your say and get involved in planning our campaign from the word ‘go’.

I’m also running a session on ‘Investing in Progressio’s future’. In today’s world, we all know money is tight – and charities are really feeling the pinch too. But the last thing we at Progressio want is to let down the people and communities who we work with overseas. We want to be able to continue to work with them to help them bring long-lasting change to their lives.

At Progressio, the idea of community is really important to us. We work through people, and with and alongside people – so the idea of ‘community’ is right at the heart of what we do, and how we do it. It’s also something dear to the hearts of you, our supporters – your support for Progressio is a real expression of solidarity with poor and marginalised people and communities around the world.

We want to ask you how we can make that connection even stronger. So we’re having a session at our supporter day looking at how communities here in the UK can help to empower poor communities overseas.

We have some ideas to share with you – and we want to hear what you think. Please come along and be a part of it!
