Climate change and water in Peru
Cindy Krose, a Progressio development worker in CEPES, a partner working on water and the environment, has sent two videos as despatches which introduce the country and explore the local consequences of climate change, especially how climate change impacts on water.
Water is a key issue for Progressio's work in Peru since, for Peruvians, melt water from Andean snow caps is vital to sustaining livelihoods. But climate change threatens the population, 90% of whom live in arid coastal areas. Cindy meets local experts well aware of future uncertainty.
So what's happening right now in Peru? This video is all about Peru and climate change, and how small scale farmers are having to deal with an uncertain situation.
You can watch the second video from Cindy here.
