Return to the UK
What do I need to do when I return to the UK?
A month after your return you will attend a Returned Volunteer Day for reflection, training and planning for your post placement action in the UK.
You will then carry out some post placement social action to continue fighting global poverty and raise awareness in the UK about development issues. It will also be an opportunity to share your newly aquired skills and inspiration with others. This can take many forms – and you can use your creativity and skills to organise something that would be interesting for you. This could mean getting more involved in campaigning; giving talks to local community groups, blogging or writing articles for a local newspaper, maybe setting up something new that’s needed in your community, and much more.
When I return, I am starting university, can I still do my UK Action?
Yes, everyone needs to take part in UK Action, but you can do this at your new university as it doesn’t have to take place where you were living before you went away.
