Our campaigners and activists are at the heart of our mission here in the UK to overcome barriers that keep people poor across the world. You will support the development of our campaigns, train and support our network of activists around the country, speak out for Progressio and work internally to mainstream campaigning and be the voice of our campaigners and activists. You will be a constant source of great ideas and have the drive to see them through. 

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about people and creative, with an infectious enthusiasm.

The successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Proven experience of developing, organising and monitoring successful public campaigns; engaging, motivating and nurturing relationships with campaigners or activists; developing inspiring online or offline campaign actions and communications, including creating online actions and using social media for a cause; communicating effectively (written and spoken) with a diverse range of people, spread across different geographical locations, and of working effectively with coalitions/networks of NGOs is essential.

You should be a good team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others in a collaborative manner, and to enhance effective work relationships; a creative thinker and planner, with an ability to research, develop and implement campaign ideas, and reach out to audiences; have excellent writing and proofreading skills in English, with the ability to present complex ideas to audiences in a clear and inspiring manner, and strong presentation skills and the ability to collaborate with other organisations, represent Progressio and undertake public speaking engagements. Excellent time-management, organisational and project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines; a strong initiative and self-motivation, with a results-orientated and proactive approach; discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately; excellent computer and social media skills, including the ability to use standard CMS software (ideally Drupal) and other online tools (especially MailChimp) is essential. You should also have a genuine interest and understanding of international development issues, cultural awareness and a willingness to engage with faith-based and diaspora communities, and a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel around the UK.
