Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with regular short visits to Somaliland
150 days over a 12 month period (up to 15 days per month)
Progressio Somaliland is seeking an experienced and proactive Fundraising Consultant, based in Nairobi, with a genuine commitment and track record of securing funding in the field of international development.
The Consultant will play a key role in raising Progressio’s profile in the region and increasing and diversifying the funding for Progressio’s programme in Somaliland. Critical to this will be building strategic relationships with donors based in Nairobi and elsewhere within the region.
Essential requirements
- A minimum of five years’ proven successful experience fundraising through a variety of channels.
- Proven experience of conducting consultancies in the region, particularly in the area of funding strategy development and grant proposal writing.
- Proven experience in representation and fundraising for NGOs and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Excellent communications skills, confident in delivering presentations and communicating project ideas to a wide range of audiences.
- Experienced in project narrative, budget and logframe design, and able to support others to use project design tools to achieve high quality project strategies and winning proposals.
- Good understanding of the Somali (and wider regional) funding/donor landscape and related regulatory environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
