Meet our Patrons

livesimply is proud to have two senior church figures as patrons.  They are the Bishop of Portsmouth, The Rt Rev Crispian Hollis, and the Archbishop of Birmingham, the Most Rev Vincent Nichols.

Here our Patrons explain what livesimply means to them.

Bishop Crispian HollisBishop Crispian says, "When I was asked to become one of the patrons of livesimply, alongside Archbishop Vincent Nichols, I realised there's no way I can not be patron.   It enshrines so much of what I believe and hope to share with my diocese and community.  It brings together people, poverty and the environment."

"Poverty, exploitation, and degradation of the environment are inextricably linked.  livesimply provides us not just with the issues to reflect upon, it also offers tools, ways to move forward, and positive actions that can help us to manage what we've got and use it responsibly.  I very much hope this message will reach people's hearts - and then I am sure their actions will follow."

Bishop Crispian has made a livesimply promise to share the livesimply prayer widely throughout the diocese. He wants ten other people to join him.  You can join him here.

Archbishop Vincent NicholsArchbishop Nichols said, "To live more simply and in solidarity is a radical gesture against injustice throughout the world…

"To live more simply is to live more spiritually. Public culture in Britain today is aggressively secular and we must take on empty secularism."
