This is a monthly resource for sharing news, resources and ideas on how to bring the livesimply challenge alive for young people. (Pawel) Limited Edition I've Promised Badges!We've decided to congratulate people who upload promises onto the website by giving out exclusive livesimply badges! All you need to do to get your hands on these is to download the form and email it back to us when it's completed. We'll do the rest. In-depth stories (get inspired and get some good ideas here)Peacemakers take to the streets of LondonAs part of their livesimply promise to do three campaign action this year, the 'We are the Peacemakers' group from Yorkshire Martyrs High School and Arts College got down to London on June 2 to tell the G8 leaders "The World Can't Wait". Read the story in their own words. Buckingham young people lead the parish effortYoung people have been heading up the St Bernadine parish effort for livesimply this year. Displays, lunches and writing to their MP have all featured in the past 6 months. Read more about what they did and how they did it here. Taking on the challenge in JerseyBeaulieu Convent Secondary School, Jersey, have taken up the livesimply challenge. School chaplain Marta Pugsley reports. Westcliff-on-Sea taking a graphic approachSt. Bernard's High School and Arts College have been spreading the word about livesimply to prospective students, getting active on the recycling front, and petitioning their MP to get rid of standby functions on TV. We spoke to the head of RE, John Honeyands. Bitesize NewsFran goes Fairtrade in Northampton Cathedral We hear that A-level student Fran Deboo from the Cathedral parish over there has set up a fairtrade stall. We re not sure of the details, but we'let you know the hows and whens as we get them. Welsh promise tree We hear two parishes in Penarth and Dinas Powys have set up a Promise Tree, kick started by some confirmation candidates. Well done to Sheila Collins for organising this. South Gateshead all crazy about livesimply We hear Alex Morgan, the deanery youth worker in South Gateshead, and her band of excited young people are livesimply crazy. More details as we get them. St John Fisher, Harrogate still living simply We hear school chaplain Sarah Anteney is keeping livesimply's profile high in Harrogate. They're looking forward to a livesimply-themed day for Year 9 in July. We'll let you know how it goes, but we know it's going to be promise-led. Events for your diaryComing up this month: Youth Week in South Gateshead with a livesimply theme. Aylesford Youth Festival 8 July with a livesimply theme Bright Lights (Westminster diocese) 8-9th July will have livesimply speakers and activities livesimply 6th form Conference Day, in Manchester on 14 March 2008, as well as the weekend-long event celebrating livesimply on 15 & 16 March.
