Treasure hunt reveals truth about climate change (21 Jul 2008)
Over 700 young people and young adults attended over the four days of the festival, for speakers, seminars, Masses and prayers. A And on a theme of 'one world', livesimply was there too. Looking specifically at sustainability and interconnectedness, one world and one family, the livesimply workshops took young people on a journey from their academic knowledge of climate change, through its effects on communities. A treasure hunt devised by livesimply member CAFOD helped make the issue real. "We need to live simply if we're going to sort out climate change, but we can definitely all do something," said Freddee from London, very wet after doing the treasure hunt in the rain! "We got soaked, but it's wetter in Central America now, and we need to help stop that happening," said Amanda-Jane from Enfield. "It's not just about lifestyle change, though, we need to campaign and let our MPs know that we need things to change," said Kate from Leeds. >Download the Treasure Hunt: |
