Many people live in poverty in this world, while we live in a society that delights in consumption and measures everything in terms of material wealth. Our faith calls us to act against the injustice that we see in the world. 
Prayer is one form of action that we can take, so why not as a community take time to reflect prayerfully on why we need to look after the world that we have been given by God?
In September 2007, Pope Benedict XVI said, "I invite all of you to join me in praying and working for greater respect for the wonders of God's creation." This community challenge asks you to respond to that invitation and take time to reflect prayerfully on the responsibility we have as Christians to look after our environment.
