Progressio works in the following areas in Timor Leste:

Effective Governance and Participation

• Progressio is supporting women's organisations through the placement of a development worker with the national women's umbrella, REDE FETO. By supporting key organisational development areas as well as helping to strengthen member organisation's advocacy skills we are enhancing their capacity to secure the necessary changes to ensure broader participation in civil society, in administrative structures and in political life.
• We are supporting interfaith dialogue through the mentoring of a national interfaith working group which works to promote better understanding across the various faiths present in Timor Leste and developing a shared understanding among them of positive ways in which to relate to the government.
• We are working to build the capacities of the main Catholic church funding agency, Caritas aiming to improve the functioning of its sustainable livelihood and community development programmes, as well as the organisation as a whole.
• Forging links in the region between faith based organisations and other groups working for peace and development, through the periodic organisation of exchanges and training workshops.
• We are building the advocacy capacities of a variety of Local NGOs through a development worker training key staff on research and lobbying methodologies.
