Take our climate change cocoa challenge!

The effects of climate change are already wreaking havoc on the fragile lives of people living in poverty in the global south, and your actions today will help ensure decision makers are unable to forget this.

We have prepared a downloadable kit, providing everything you need to organise a short social event where you and your friends will have the opportunity to get together and discuss the experiences of poor farmers in the developing world as well as practical ways for you, your co-workers or parish to get involved in the Just Add Water campaign.

What to do:

1.   Organise a cocoa-making session with a group of friends, co-workers, youth or parish group at your home, parish or place of work.
2.   Using the recipe provided by Progressio, gather all the ingredients as best you can – remembering each one represents a vital ingredient in fighting climate change.
3.   As your guests arrive, give each one a copy of the Just Add Water action booklet and Progressio’s cocoa recipe. Ask them to read it as you put the kettle on.
4.   Each guest should make a cup of cocoa to his/her taste, and just add water!
5.   As you and your guests sip your cocoa, have a look through the stories, facts and information about the campaign together – discuss and enjoy your cocoa!!
