Environmental and Agricultural Adviser (one-year placement), based in Hargeisa, Somaliland (11 Apr 2010 )
The Progressio Development Worker, working as an Environmental and Agricultural Adviser, will work alongside Candlelight; a Somaliland based NGO, supporting the analysis of local people's needs with regards to environmental policies, water management and sustainable farming. S/he will work with Candlelight staff to implement and strengthen the current environmental policies, water management and sustainable farming activities in the country.

Programme Officer, full-time, one-year contract (with possibility of renewal), US$800 per month (gross), based in Dili, Timor-Leste (22 Mar 2010 )
Progressio is looking for a highly motivated and resourceful individual with a genuine commitment to development, seeking to work in a cutting edge development agency in an emerging democracy, with decentralisation high on the agenda. The Programme Officer will be jointly responsible for the coordination of Progressio Timor-Leste projects, with all partners where Progressio development workers are based. S/he will also contribute to programme development, planning, monitoring and evaluation, and the management of development workers, as well as fundraising, recruitment, report writing and some communications, networking and advocacy work.

Asesor/a Técnico/a en Gestión Pública Municipal con énfasis en Presupuesto Municipal Participativo (convenio de cooperación de un año), en Comedor, Provincia de Elías Piña, República Dominicana (16 Mar 2010 )
La persona cooperante trabajará con la Oficina Técnica Inter Municipal de Elías Piña (OTIMEP) y con los seis Ayuntamientos de la provincia de Elías Piña fortaleciendo la OTIMEP a todos los niveles: administrativo, institucional, financiero etc., como parte del proyecto del Fondo Canadiense de Iniciativas Locales (FCIL). La persona trabajará en la misma OTIMEP, fortaleciendo las capacidades de sus miembros en materia de identificación, planificación y ejecución de proyectos de desarrollo local, así como fortaleciendo y acompañando a la sociedad civil de esta provincia para que participe en los mecanismos de participación ciudadana que estipula la Ley Municipal 176-07. Además la persona apoyará a la OTIMEP en temas de equidad de género, gestión pública, comunicación e incidencia. Igualmente, la persona cooperante elaborará las guías metodológicas y los instrumentos de evaluación, monitoreo y seguimiento que permitan ir sistematizando la experiencia. Contribuirá también para que los procesos de participación se institucionalicen mediante la consolidación de espacios y mecanismos de concertación entre gobiernos locales y sociedad civil adoptando las metodologías, resoluciones y reglamentos municipales necesarios.
