(20 Jul 2008 ) This is an exciting post for a proactive individual interested in and with experience in policy and advocacy, management and in international development. As an Advocacy Manager you will advise the International and Executive Directors on political strategy; oversee all of Progressio’s advocacy work through leading the implementation of Progressio’s Corporate Advocacy Strategy; lead the Advocacy Team and manage the two Thematic Policy and Advocacy Officers; work with Regional Managers and Regional Policy and Advocacy Officers.
You will ensure common advocacy planning and coordination systems, policy coherence and good practice across all international advocacy work; develop and lead implementation of an international advocacy strategy on governance and participation; and keep abreast of and engaged in broader development policy analysis and cross-cutting policy processes.
You will also work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure that Progressio is able to mobilise and engage its supporters, both faith based and secular, to campaign on advocacy issues and to promote advocacy messages with the media.
HIV and AIDS Advocacy Adviser (two-year placement), based in Lilongwe, Malawi
(20 Jul 2008 ) The Progressio Development Worker (DW) will work as an HIV and AIDS Advocacy Adviser with two faith based networks to help build the knowledge and skills of fellow staff members to develop and implement effective advocacy programmes. S/he will provide technical support to identify the skills and knowledge gaps within the two faith-based organisations to undertake effective advocacy regarding HIV and AIDS, to identify key issues to advocate on, to facilitate the development and implementation of comprehensive advocacy and mobilisation strategies and build skills in advocacy, policy analysis, documentation and information dissemination regarding HIV and AIDS.
HIV and AIDS Policy and Advocacy Officer, £29,187 per annum plus benefits, full time, fixed-term two-year contract, based in Islington, London
(16 Jul 2008 ) Are you passionate about developing policy analysis and theological reflection to influence faiths/faith groups and leaders in their response to the HIV pandemic? The HIV and AIDS Policy and Advocacy Officer will lead and coordinate the development and implementation of Progressio’s policy analysis and international advocacy work on HIV and AIDS prevention with the Catholic Church, to achieve lasting changes that address the underlying causes of the pandemic.
