Child Welfare Programme Development Adviser (two-year placement - with the possibility of renewal), based in Harare, Zimbabwe

Please note that for this placement we are only able to consider applicants who are fluent in Shona and / or Ndebele.

You should have:

·  a degree or qualification in the area of Sociology, Social Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Administration and / or any other relevant Social Science discipline

·  a minimum of three years' experience in organisational development for child or youth welfare NGOs or civil society organisations (CSOs) in an advisory/support capacity

·  proven experience of: training/facilitation methodologies and direct experience of training, especially as it pertains to child programming; working with child welfare organisations including both in and out of care institutions (in areas of capacity building, research, documentation and knowledge management)

·  experience in (and the ability to) train people in: strategic planning, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, participatory research methods, documentation and knowledge management, counselling; child reintegration and rehabilitation, and corporate governance

·  proven ability in programme design, planning and management; an understanding of the role NGOs and CSOs play in responding to Child Welfare and Development issues; and a good knowledge and appreciation of Child Rights as a development issue

·  good interpersonal, communications and report writing skills

·  knowledge of and commitment to gender awareness.
