This Comment examines the development of feminist theology, looking at universal arguments on the social status and role of women, and at perspectives arising from specific cultural, religious, economic and racial contexts. It presents the debates among opponents of feminism and within feminist theology, and identifies the challenges to feminist theology at the beginning of the new century.
