This is a great opportunity for an outgoing and dynamic individual to raise the profile of Progressio’s International Citizen Service (ICS) programme across a variety of UK audiences (e.g. faith-based, youth, diaspora networks/organisations). The post holder will be responsible for building awareness of the programme across a diverse range of young adults in the UK, with the aim of delivering a set number of applications.

The post holder should have an understanding of creative marketing techniques and social media, administration and logistics, and the ability to attract, inspire and relate to a variety of audiences, particularly young adults.

The successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

You should have proven experience in planning and organising marketing/promotional events (including public speaking or presenting to and engaging with groups of young adults); recruiting, supporting and motivating volunteers; writing inspiring web content and creating eye-catching marketing materials and resources; using social media for marketing/recruitment purposes, and administrative experience in a fast paced environment. Experience of organising and prioritising a demanding workload, including working under pressure to achieve deadlines; dealing with enquiries from the general public (e.g. phone calls and correspondence) in a friendly manner, and of working in a supportive and enabling role and building working relationships with a culturally diverse workforce is also essential.

You should have knowledge of marketing techniques appropriate to a diverse range of young adults; solid office/administration skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of people (especially young adults), and creativity, enthusiasm and the ability to inspire potential volunteers to apply for Progressio ICS. Good problem solving skills and an openness to receiving feedback; the ability to use own initiative to deliver expected project outcomes to a high standard (on time and within budget); excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to write reports and other relevant documentation, and the willingness to undertake occasional UK travel, and to work occasional evenings and weekends is also essential.
