Progressio is offering 18 to 25 year olds based in the UK a life changing opportunity to volunteer in El Salvador, Honduras, Malawi, Nicaragua or Zimbabwe as part of International Citizen Service (ICS). This is a chance to gain new skills and experiences, meet inspiring people and use your experience overseas to inspire social action on global issues back in the UK.

ICS, funded by the UK government's Department for International Development (DFID), is a global volunteering experience which supports young people from all backgrounds to make a real difference to some of the world’s poorest people.

You will spend 10 weeks volunteering in a team alongside local people tackling poverty together working on the environment, HIV, participation and gender.

Progressio’s ICS programme is unique as we offer you the opportuity to take on a specific role within the team, such as blogging, visual media, monitoring and evaluation or community relations and we also provide space for reflection and an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the role of faith in development.

You don’t have to pay to volunteer for Progressio ICS, but we do ask volunteers to fundraise (usually £800) to help meet some of the costs (you will get support to do this). You will receive training and support. Flights, accommodation, insurance, food, etc will be provided.

We also need a small number of volunteer Group Leaders, who must be 23+ and have the ability to lead a diverse group of young adults.

Please apply as soon as possible as we have a rolling recruitment process for this programme.
